Customizing Email Templates

The portal comes with many built in emails that are sent out to users. This doc explains how to customize these emails.

Add portal URL to emails

By default, the URL in the emails will be your "https://portal-<yourcompany>.mediumone.com" URL. However, if you have linked the portal to your own domain, you'll want the URL in the emails to match that.

In order to add your portal URL to all emails, you have to modify the Advanced Config. If you haven't read the Advanced Config doc yet, please read that before proceeding.

Add the following to your Advanced Config:

"PORTAL_LINK": <portal URL>

Receive emails as BCC

Sometimes it's nice to be BCC'd onto emails sent out so you can see when people sign up, activate, subscribe, etc.

In order to add your portal URL to all emails, you have to modify the Advanced Config. If you haven't read the Advanced Config doc yet, please read that before proceeding.

Add the following to your Advanced Config:

"EMAIL_TEMPLATE_BCC_LIST_MAPPING": {<email template ID>: <list of emails to BCC>}

As you can see, the value is a dictionary where each key is an email template ID, and each value is a list of emails to BCC for those emails.

In order to find the email template ID, as a Super Admin, go to "Developer" from the sidebar menu and click "Email Template". Then, click on the email you are interested in.

Finally, in the URL of your browser, you'll see something like this:

https://portal-example.mediumone.com/web/#/app/sa_email_config/<email template ID>/en

Edit email template HTML

You can also directly edit the HTML of any of the email templates.

As a Super Admin, go to "Developer" from the sidebar menu and click "Email Template". Then, click on the email you are interested in editing.

From here, you can edit the subject as well as the body. You can also enable or disable the email; if it is disabled, that email template will not be sent out from the portal.

After saving the template, you can test the template by filling out the fields in the "Send Test Email" box (make sure to set the sender email to your email address) and then pressing the "Send Test Email" button.
