This is an overview of the custom dashboards section. With Custom Dashboards you can:
- Create, edit and delete custom dashboard pages
- Assign permissions for each dashboard page based on end-user's role or type of subscription they have. For example, if your product has multiple plans you can assign a page to different plans.
- Specify if the custom page should be listed on the left nav bar
Note: can re-order the pages so they appear in the Nav bar in the preferred order.
Note: You can also specify if a page is for Desktop or Mobile
Editing a Custom Page
When editing a page, you can specify the HMTL and JS. Refer to the User Portal JS library and API to learn how to access device data.
Page Name: This is the browser page name appearing on the tab
Page Route: This is the url page, this needs to be unique, no spaces.
Show page only for account type: Specify which Account Types has access to this page. This useful if you have different types of Accounts such as a Distributor vs end Customer.
Required User Permission Level: Specify which kinds of users can access. For example: If you specify Super Admin, only Super Admin can view this page - this is useful for creating custom admin pages such as analytics and metrics.
Page Permission: This specifies if the page can be viewed before or after the user subscribes. For example, you can create sign up pages for a new user until they subscribe to your plan. Then create a different set of pages only visible after the user subscribes.
Header, Side Bar, Footer: You can save a page to override the header, footer or navbar.
Save and Activate Dashboard: Saving will automatically publish the dashboard live. If you're in development mode, we recommending developing on your dev portal. To avoid multiple developers editing the same page, you need to request a lock on the page in order to Save and Activate. When completed, you can release the Lock or it will automatically release after some time.
